Giving Back with Jingle Books

It’s never too early to teach your child to give back. Christmas time is a time to reflect on all the wonderful things we have been blessed with and give back to those who may not have as much.  Last year we made gift bags for Riley patients and their families. This year we cleared out our bookshelf and donated some books to our local library for kids to pick out just in time for Christmas.

Honestly going into this I was nervous knowing D3’s love for books. However, he did really well and gave 24 books away and only had trouble letting go of one(A Lion King book), so we kept that one.

Jingle Books

Indianapolis residents are encouraged to give the gift of reading during “Jingle Books 2018,” a project to provide free books to children of all ages during the holiday season.

Simply visit your local Indy Library to either take or donate books for children to read and value as great gift to receive.

“Jingle Books” displays are available at all IndyPL locations. Individuals can select children’s books from display boxes to take home for free. They can also donate new or gently used books by dropping them into the boxes. Free gift wrapping stations will be provided at most sites.

During its first four years, “Jingle Books” has provided nearly 4,000 books for local children.

“Jingle Books” will continue through December 22, 2018 during regular Library hours.
